The ‘Urban Sun’ Artificial Sun

The “Urban Sun” artificial sun, created by Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde, promises to eliminate pathogens such as the coronavirus from open-air spaces.  It’s essentially a system that uses far-ultraviolet light to kill pathogens in open-air environments.  With the coronavirus restricting human contacts and meetings, it is hoped that this system will be installed in public areas where people will be allowed to gather under its light.
