Self Charging Electric Bike
The Self Charging Electric Bike Goes Green
The green revolution is taking the world by storm and why not after all protecting the environment we all depend on is one of the greatest good we can do. For that reason any device that eliminates the need for gasoline burning engines and uses human power to do the heavy lifting deserves our attention. The self-charging electric bike is one such device that recharges by pedaling. Pedaling the bike turns the built-in alternator that converts mechanical energy to electrical energy providing supplemental power to recharge the on board lithium-ion battery. For those times when you don’t feel like the pedaling the electric motors kicks in and powers you on your way. A 2-1/2” color LCD on the handle bars allows the rider to select his/her pedal resistance, acceleration and speeds up to 16 mph.
The chain-less hybrid drive system with automatic dual winding motor and an aluminum frame with carbon-fiber single fork, 20” diameter tires and dual hand brakes all come together in a machine of form and function that is not only durable and safe but lightweight as well. For additional safety, the electronic control unit’s sensors, monitor the bike’s speed and slope of the terrain and automatically shifts gears to enable smooth rides up steep inclines or down declines. For long duration riders, the battery enables an 18-mile ride on a full charge without pedaling or up to 28-mile with minimal pedaling. The on board battery recharges in 2½ hours with an included AC adapter. Safely tuck this bike away in the smallest of spaces by folding it to 1/3 its original size. Measures 64” long x 46” high x 24” wide and weighs a measly 47 3/4 pounds.
What’s the cost? $3,800
